doe eyed deers

As i was looking through for images that i could use for my folio, i came across this perculiar image. In a quick instant it reminded me of mangga or atleast something from an anime movie.
It spoke of a strange mood, the white sculptured deers somehow represented the pure. However as u glimpse closely you start to take notice of it's slightly protuding ribs,sunken stomach and somehow dark emotions within the facial expression. It's a mirror and symmetry between the pair of deers that lay stumpled and scattered like a litter of leaves. Ironically that doesnt leave a sense of death as it seems to represent that.

With a little more reseach, i found out that the sculptor is Kim Simonssons, who happens to be a young finnish artist that has a kink with 3 dimensional stills from anime films. He's also based in Helsinki and has been putting up exhibitions throughout his break in 2004. Very good progress for an artist!

Body Alarm taking it's toll

Time: 12.08 in the arvo....Ive been awake since 9.30, slept at 3.30ish am?

Mood: Slightly light, from being up way to early. Im a baby who needs her 7-8 hours sleep. Very unlikely for a designer to get but somehow i will wedge that when i start my serious life. Going to be sneaky and i will pop in some naps after this.Shoulders hurting for a strange reason.

Also quite estatic that photo's are loaded & ready for publishing. So here goes the best of pictures out of the 9 rolls that were taken on my lil journey through the mid year & few weeks back.

body: overdosed from hershey choc's(only 3 lil nuggets), yes! my cHocoholic self has been cured due to the fasting month. Feeling quite hydrated...eyes, confused on whether to stay awake...tongue tasting metallic....( ooh not too good as house would put it).

It's weird, to think that a week has passed of work. It felt fast which meant i wasnt dreading on time or the days. Just perfect :) the way i want it to be. Received photo's from Kayun( terima kasih! darling cousin) but the only the problem is uploading them....how annoying!!!

Went a little generous, so i bought mama & tia some pre raya presents & finally gotten myself some raya shoes. Tomorrow is another of hunting for baju raya for Kak yanti, damn....who would think it would be this hard. Someone aught to up the making of this tradition. sigh* it's sad to think that no one really knows much of their culture. It's going by the year through and no is seriously being proud of being a Malaysian. That's why it's slipping away. I dont think i can name anyone who knows how to cook a nice meal for the whole family. We're not talking about telur goreng and nasi here but actual proper yummy dishes. I think we all take for granted on the elderly's & somehow adopting this attitude that they will always be around. I guess the coming generation will rely on packed Brahmins & take out for our festive season. Anyhow Selamat Hari Raya & Happy Berbuka for the last 2 days.

A day of work lead to my update of my folio.

Miss parminter, this is the essence in which i began my journey to the uncanny.

Here, twiggy is expressed as the painter who sits by the glass room ( all in which i designed) , site located in barry's reef.A secluded area whereby the only neighbours you have are the possums or wombats. Here she sits and paints at her own leisure, the glass casing create's her own threshold which is the only seperation between the outer dimension. From a far, the room is created such that a person would be seen exposed to her surroundings. Thus, creating a perfect illusion and freedoom to express.

Mood: missing my sayang too bits & my baby dali. It also feels strange that i am back & i was just in melbourne yesterday.

Changes: i am already sweating from the heat, already bumming in front of astro, having great home cooked food, no longer craving chocolate, oh yeah terrible haze in kl!!....

Since, its as though i have been hit by the past. Here are some photo's of last year that reminded me of another case of deja vu. Im back here again except my baby's not here to keep me company. :(

Squinty Day for lil old me

Mood: Feel like junk, had to much junk. In need of a well balanced meal.

guilt, skipped fasting as a day in the hot 28 would just make me faint at the showgrounds.

"I was in the full gear of getting excited but somehow it just wasnt the same this year,
jamie & owen came around to joining us. haha, we did watch the racing & diving pigs but
poor jamie had a bad headache from the crowd & the sun( it was quite annoying at one point) so she left after plus the wind was just blowing us around i swore....my dress went up a no of times.

ajie did the thrills of doing all the crazy rides, while boring old me sat & watch. i just couldnt do anything with the dress( hehe, yes im a lil lame for going all girly on a carnivale day). I also got
frustrated on the black jack games....i kept missing on the odd no's. i will be keeping the old tickets
for next years show.grin*

i suppose it was quite exciting that they had a band, playing all the lovely salsa tunes but no one wanted to dance with me...BOring! The food testing was good. i guess...hrmmm & as usual the show bags were worth the wait & buy.

Attack of the sweet tooth

Whats up with women & their need to feed themselves sugar either when their emotions are at their peak or down right in the shits*

While men, in all their macho sense put their frustrations towards strength. So their more likely to look toned & hot after a steamy bad break-up and us wonderful ladies as fat lards. hahaha* funny funny.

Right now, mood swings are attacking my system & right down to my rumbling tummy. Due to the fasting month, i have been stuffing myself with the evils: choc, ice cream, sweets & my fav sticky date pudding.

However, i have found that my capacity of filling myself up has gone down low....so my head goes, "come on, you can do more than that" while my tummy goes, "stop i cant even take water in". Clearly how do u fight this devil? I would say i would go more with my heart...more like greed.

So, let me introduce the sensation that has hit melbournians( hehe i reckon more like the asians),

KRISPY KREME

finaly, landed into the city. Being a smart ass, hehe i bought a box right after work which was right after the final footie game. The streets were deserted, no trammies to catch me . Plus as soon as i reach the place, i got a box within a min. How fantastic was that? beats having to drive out to Fountain Gate, shesh* what a waste of time & petrol. Had the yummy doughnuts for buka, however i could only shove 2 tonight & i reckon the rest would go down ajie's tummy.(mind u they pack a dozen in) This time around there were puffier & fatter .....i didnt get the same kick i did the last time.

Sexy Vixen from the past

I was just busy laughing as i was watching through Barbarella.
Had always been curious about it and after much stops at video easy, i thought why not pop in a classic & highly recommended movie(labelled on it).

So, here we go. The movie is based on Jane Fonda (barbarella) , who is the Queen of the Galaxy. A remake of a comic and since it was done by a french man it involves a lot of love making.It's like a mix of Samantha (sex and the city) and Wonder woman. She does have some bimbotic side to her at times & amazingly pulls of such an ooze of sexkitten in her.


What i love love about barbarella: she's hot, has great hair , shiny costumes, hot angel
guy who's blind, cheesy plastic spaceships, great utopian ideas, everyones beautiful there besides duran duran, president of the world & prof. ping.(hahaha),crystal rooms & the acting, just the awful yet cool furry 70's.

Mood: Absolutely numb from having a big dinner & fasting for ramadhan (body still getting used to it or my tummy is atleast).

Whereabouts: Nova on Lygon, Fruit shop & the bakery

Desire: lemon grass stalks, dates, spices, sticky date pudding & brownie.

----> Menu: tempura marinara, lemongrass chicken(vietnamese), asparagus & bok choy on oyster sauce, some some of pasta based vege soup, curry from lastnight.( yes i am very full! ).

it's about 4 girlfriends(the rich housewife,script writer,the housekeeper & the fashion designer). and their friendship,. Among the women Jennifer Aniston is the only who isnt married or well to do. So she takes a job as a maid since she couldnt cope with her teaching job. Somehow she seems to be the main concern in the show since she's struggling more compared to her girlfriends.Through the movie, their life goes through the common problems that we all face marriage, dating, money & accepting ourselves. However it was so wonderfully done that even ajie enjoyed it. It was just so pleasant. Im glad i came out on this unplanned movie trip and being a tight arse to watch on cheap $5 mondays! ps: not a chic flick after all. ********* 5/5 stars

It was just so crowded to be in that space especially when you are trying to appreciate the work of an artist. I have not been a fan of picasso nor do i disgust it.hahaha but I am intrigue by it.
The etchings speak of emotional frustration through the hard lines, through the scrappings, through repetitions of his strokes. I couldnt stop myself as i admire how one simple coloured pencil drawing (for example)looks as if it was done on paint. I really really did enjoy the exhibition.

As for Dora maar, I was just captivated by her pictures. She is truly a beautiful woman & no wonder a lover to picasso. She had a way with her composition, so dark & so much story beneath the layers. They must have had an intense relationship as she had kept many reminders / memories in her apartment of Picasso when she died at the age of 90. Can you imagine she was still alive in 1997, damn i wished i knew my art then.:)it's strange to know that someone so iconic was alive in my time.

She doesnt even have any design experience but i think with the amount of time she has been in the fashion world, she wouldnt quite need it.
